Top Skincare Products that Produce Real Results

5 of the top skincare products that deliver real results and why they are worth the investment.

So we’ve all been there, trying endless beauty products only to feel like you wasted valuable time and money. To add insult to injury, you’re not getting any younger. That is until you’ve found something that works. I’ve pooled together 5 of the top skincare products that deliver real results. You can rest assured these will leave your skin screaming hallelujah everyday. Warning! If you’re not ready to spend a few dollars more, then this may not be the article for you. You get what you pay for and when it comes to quality ingredients, this is one part of your lifestyle you should not skimp on.

Everyone wants younger, tighter, and wrinkle free skin right? What if your skin fairy godmother came down and said to you, “describe your dream skin, where are your areas of concern, what do you like about your skin?” What would you say to her? As a self-proclaimed beauty guinea pig, I’ve tried them all. Here are some of my recent favorite skincare products and I’d love to learn what you’re using as well.

I have received ZERO from the products I’m including here in exchange  for writing this article so these are my real and honest thoughts on them. I’m going to include links here too so you can buy these directly from where I get them in case you want to try them. Here’s a list of some of the top skincare products that deliver real results and I use as part of my skincare routine (in no particular order).

Retinol

Retinol is the holy grail of skincare according to most doctors and aestheticians. I use a retinol most nights and you have to be consistent if you want to see results. Usually prescribed by a doctor, you can probably snag one at a reputable medspa near you. You have to be uber patient as it’s not a quick fix, the first few weeks you may experience redness and skin sensitivities. It’s normal and I usually switch to applying every other night before bed with my other skincare routine.

Ok, so why go through all of that, and is it worth it? Yes, indeed. Retinol, known to unclog pores, speed cell turnover and last but certainly not least boost collagen. A round of applause for this small but mighty little guy. Here are some versions of Retinol I’ve tried.

Hyaluronic Acid

I’m sure you’ve heard of this wonder product by now. If you haven’t, then please say hello to one of my personal favorites. Hyaluronic acid is a sugar naturally found in our skin. It holds water and helps keep it plump and hydrated. Unfortunately as we age the amount that we contain decreases with time. In modern beauty there are so many versions of HA, but I’m a fan of serums. Hyaluronic acid serums are light and the perfect addition to your beauty routine.

Everyone has their personal preference of application. I usually apply my serum after washing and toning. It’s always best to follow the rule of lightest to heaviest when it comes to adding products to your skin in your daily routine before finishing with makeup. Your skin will thank you for your new supple glow.

Exfoliant

On a day to day basis our skin collects dirt, pollutants, chemicals, you name it. Depending on the type of skin dry to oily, a good exfoliator will have your skin glowing like you’ve just walked out of the spa. They key to vibrant, soft textured skin is to exfoliate at least twice per week. Essentially you’re removing dead cells from the top layer of your skin. This helps with cell turnover and your skin appears brighter and clearer over time.

There are two types of exfoliants, chemical and physical and some that contain both. I tend to have dry and oily combination skin and to keep my pores clear I like to use a combination chemical with physical scrub. I like a product that contains granules and has either salicylic acid, glycolic acid or some other medical grade solution. The benefit is having a product that can go deep into the pores to dislodge dirt then the particles to buff  it away. These are some that I’ve tried and personally use regularly.

Growth Serums

This is a controversial topic for some, I understand. I’ve always been a big believer that when it comes to quality skincare in order to see long term results, there has to be a mesh of science and natural ingredients. Natural products are great but as you age, some of the most innovative treatments and products are all science based. I also stand by clean beauty and I try my best to see what’s actually in the products that I’m applying to my skin. The more products’ ingredients are questioned, the more we end up with more clean beauty products on the market.

Some of the most cutting edge serums that get me excited are growth serums. I’ve tried many over the years and have done lots of research. Yes, there are some that use foreskin fibroblasts to grow stem cells. Apparently, a single baby foreskin contains enough genetic material to grow over 23,000 square meters of skin. This is the same technology used for burn victims and many other applications. Don’t judge the cosmetic industry too harshly.

That aside, growth factors when applied regularly combat the normal wear and tear of everyday life. Let’s look at it as replacing what is being lost. Growth factors are large proteins that float between cells and when purchased they’ve either been manufactured in a lab or from human stem cells. Curious to see what all of the hype is about then check out these top rated growth serums.

Vitamin “C” Serums

I personally use and also end up going back to the SKINCEUTICALS C E FERULIC WITH 15% L-ASCORBIC ACID (see below). It’s lightweight and I never experience irritation. From the many on the market, I’ve narrowed it down to a few great contenders. You’re probably wondering why I’m touting using a Vitamin C serum in the first place? Think of this little bottle as your warrior against aging and environmental factors. Just be mindful a little is all you need daily, especially if you’re prone to oily skin like me.

Hope you get to test out some of these or that I’ve at least piqued your curiosity on how to spruce up your skincare regimen. I know everyone is different and skin varies immensely but I can tell you that these are the ones that work for me, your friendly neighborhood personal luxe beauty obsessed pal.
