A MODERN GUIDE TO LIVING YOUR LIFE WELL

Top 5 Habits of Super Successful Bloggers

Blogging

What separates the wheat from the chaff when it comes to bloggers? Usually, it’s less about you and more about your habits. If you’re struggling to get your blog off of the ground, take a look at top habits for success in the blogosphere.

Why Are Habits Important?

We humans are creatures of habit. In fact, up to 45% of our actions on any given day are a result of our habits, rather than conscious choices. Our habits can propel us toward success, or hold us back from achieving our dreams. The good news is that you can change your habits and cultivate new and helpful ones.

Habits also grow stronger over time and become increasingly automatic. Trying to incorporate a new habit will feel strange at first and requires some willpower but eventually you’ll do it without thinking.

Creating a successful blog takes a lot of work; it doesn’t happen overnight. Therefore, you’ll need to cultivate good habits to ensure your success. Otherwise, you’ll grow tired and eventually give up. Let’s dive into the top five habits of super successful bloggers.

Publish Consistently

I’ll be real with you: as a blogger, you won’t always be motivated to churn out ten posts per week. The reason many would-be bloggers fail is because they don’t set themselves a publishing schedule and rely on motivation to write their posts. Unfortunately, publishing in sporadic bursts just doesn’t work that well. Search engines and affiliate marketing networks reward bloggers who publish consistently. One post per week is better than a random scattering every few months.

I recommend starting small and setting yourself an achievable target. One blog post per week is absolutely fine, or even less than that if you’re short for time. Once that becomes a firm habit, you can think about increasing the volume if necessary.

Treat Your Blog Like A Business (From The Very Beginning)

Don’t launch a blog and hope that it becomes a business one day. Think of it as a business from day one. Create a strategy, set (realistic) goals and give it the proper amount of care and attention.

Create a roadmap from where you are now to where you want to be, and make sure you properly understand how to make money from blogging

Put Quality Over Quantity

One well-written blog post is worth ten slapdash articles. You’ll struggle to monetize a blog that’s all over the place. Your readers won’t stick around and they certainly won’t trust you. Take time to put a quality blog post together and triple-check each one for errors.

Networking

Networking is like second nature to successful bloggers. Guest posting on other blogs helps to boost your search engine rankings and increase your domain authority. Try to guest post at least once per month. It doesn’t have to be a full-on article each time; there are lots of opportunities to contribute a paragraph to a roundup post in Facebook groups like this one.

Avoid Blogger Burnout

Remember those newbies I told you about who get really excited and bite off way more than they can chew in the beginning? Yeah, they burn out and give up pretty fast. Blogging is time-consuming at first, it can feel like a thankless task. In addition to cultivating the other blogging habits I’ve listed, you need to avoid burnout by setting firm boundaries. For example, if you work full time and tend to blog in the evenings, set yourself a cutoff time. You could even set yourself one “blog free” day per week to give yourself a rest, or set an upper time limit so that you don’t spend your entire life glued to your laptop screen. It might sound counterproductive but remember that with blogging, slow and steady wins the race.
