A MODERN GUIDE TO LIVING YOUR LIFE WELL

The Best Things for Luxury Travelers To Do in Miami

Isabella in a sky bed

Bienvenidos a Miami. I decided it was high time I wrote a blog post about the vibrant city I’m proud to call home. Miami is the crowning jewel of the Sunshine State; it’s glittering, glamorous, vibrant and home to some of the best beaches in America. Whether you’re seeking a staycation or coming from thousands of miles away, Miami is always worth the trip. Here’s my pick of the best things for luxury travelers to do in the Magic City.

Check Out Wynwood

Once upon a time, South Beach was Miami’s coolest neighborhood but it has most definitely been usurped by Wynwood. Formerly a warehouse district, Wynwood is now the artistic centre of Miami, with street art covering every building. The Wynwood Walls outdoor museum has amazing murals by world famous artists alongside work by up-and-coming local talent. Every inch of this neighborhood is visually stimulating and the artwork is always changing. Many of Miami’s hottest bars and restaurants can be found here, too.

Discover Little Havana

Little Havana is a fairly small area but it leaves a big impression. Much of Miami’s Cuban population resides in Little Havana and they’re fiercely proud of this dynamic neighborhood. There’s so much fun to be had here, whether you want to sample first class Cuban food and coffee, enjoy the colorful street art or dance the night away at a Salsa bar. I also recommend checking out the Calle Ocho Walk of Fame, the Cuban version of the iconic Hollywood attraction.

Take a Stroll in South Pointe Park

South Pointe is my favorite park in the city to explore. It’s one of the prettiest spots in Miami and a great place to relax and watch the sunset. You can enjoy a walk along the scenic pier and soak in amazing views of the South Beach and Downtown skylines. When cruise ships go by, everyone stops to wave to the passengers which always makes me smile.

People Watch in South Beach

Of course, I had to mention the iconic South Beach neighborhood. South Beach is often referred to as “the American Riviera” thanks to its picturesque shores, Art Deco buildings and vibrant culture. Here, you’ll find 5 star hotels, glamorous bars and fine dining interspersed with more casual and creative spots. Personally, I think one of the best things to do in South Beach is people watching in street cafes. You’ll definitely see something crazy.

Shop ‘Til You Drop On Lincoln Road

Lincoln Road outdoor shopping strip is one of the best spots in Miami for a dose of retail therapy. You’ll also find plenty of trendy restaurants and cafes where you can stop to refuel. Later on, the nightlife scene really lights up once the shops close.

Admire the Design District

The Design District is an upscale and artistic Miami neighborhood teeming with world-class art galleries, avant-garde sculptures and luxurious shopping malls. Whilst Wynwood is a trendy creative neighborhood, there’s a decidedly more highbrow feel to Miami’s Design District.

Tour Coral Gables

Coral Gables is a wealthy old-world city with Mediterranean Revival architecture and leafy, canopied streets that just can’t fail to charm you. It’s an excellent place to shop and the area’s many upscale boutiques will probably leave your wallet feeling considerably lighter. Coral Gables is also one of Florida’s top foodie destinations, with an abundance of gourmet restaurants and classy cafes. Be sure to check out the 1920s Venetian Pool, an enormous and uncommonly pretty public swimming facility.
