A MODERN GUIDE TO LIVING YOUR LIFE WELL

The Top 10 Travel Beauty Products I Can’t Live Without

the top 10 travel beauty products I can't live without

Packing isn’t easy when you’re a self-confessed beauty addict. Deciding which of your 24564 moisturizers and lotions you’ll need on your trip can be a painstaking process. Over the years, however, I have whittled down my list of must-have travel beauty products so that now, I can simply grab them and go.

#1 – Elemis Resurfacing Facial Pads

To be honest, I’m not a huge fan of face wipes on a day-to-day basis. When travelling, however, they’re indispensable. I love using facial wipes to refresh myself during a long haul flight, and they’re great for long days of sightseeing and exploring.

Elemis Resurfacing Facial Pads are an absolute godsend for the acne-prone whilst travelling. They contain lactic acid and a probiotic ferment complex to gently exfoliate your skin and leave your face feeling baby-soft. They also help with blemishes and an uneven skin tone. I can’t get enough!

#2 – Refillable Perfume Bottle

I learned this lesson the hard way after one too many perfume breakages in transit. No matter how carefully you pack your bag, there’s always a risk that your favorite bottle of scent will be damaged and so it’s best to decant a small amount into a refillable bottle. I like this handy 10ml bottle, or if you want to bring multiple fragrances then you can get a whole pack of 5ml ones

#3 – Moisturizer

I have more lotions and potions on my vanity table than I’d care to admit, but for travel I tend to favor First Aid Beauty’s Ultra Repair Cream. It’s great for the face and body, so it’s a great space saver, and it’s perfect for revitalising skin after a long day in the sun. It delivers intense moisture to the skin but it feels super light and refreshing, so it’s the perfect travel moisturiser. I often decant a little into a travel bottle to use in-flight, too.

#4 – Slip Silk Eye Mask

A silk eye mask is a total in-flight must-have for me. I wear eyelash extensions and so the masks provided on a business class amenity kit don’t tend to cut it. I’ve tried a few but I have to say that Slip’s version is pretty hard to beat.

#5 – Facial Sunscreen

Of course, I take sunscreen for my body too but that’s more of a necessity than a beauty product. I love facial sunscreens that sit nicely under makeup for days when I’m shooting content and want to look glam. Here are a few of my all-time favorites:

#6 – Hair Protection Spray

Just like your skin, your hair can suffer UV damage when you spend a lot of time in the sun. I like to protect my locks with Supergoop’s Poof Mineral Powder, which is essentially sunblock for your hair. I also apply SachaJuan’s Hair in the Sun serum to lock in moisture and add extra protection. This one is waterproof, so it’s great for snorkelling and splashing around.

#7 – Leave in Conditioner

After a day of swimming and sunbathing, I like to treat my hair to an extra TLC. As a luxury traveler, the properties I stay at tend to provide luxurious conditioners but I like to add my own leave-in treatment afterwards to ensure that my hair stays healthy. I really like this one from Sunbum. It does an amazing job of detangling my hair and it smells good enough to eat!

#8 – Face Mask

I love to hit the spa when I’m away, but on media trips content creation is my number one priority. For me, a spa visit tends to be an end-of-trip treat, so I need a way to make sure my skin is looking photogenic from day one. Clarins V Facial Intensive Wrap is the best thing ever for jet-lagged skin. The heat, lack of sleep and stress of travelling can leave my skin puffy and swollen, and this mask has been designed specifically to target those issues. It’s a total skin saviour, and leaves me looking radiant.

#9 – Eye Cream

The right eye cream can really put the sparkle back into tired, jet-lagged eyes. I find that Caudalie’s Resveratrol works wonders and it feels absolutely amazing on the skin, too. It’s packed with antioxidants and hydrating hyaluronic acid to make your skin feel firmer and plumper in an instant.

#10 – Tinted Moisturiser

When you’re travelling to warm climes, you don’t always want a thick layer of foundation. Tinted moisturisers are perfect for balancing your complexion but are light on the skin. They’re the perfect travel beauty products!

I’m very partial to Chantecaille’s Just Skin tinted moisturiser because it creates such a pretty, natural look. If you’re looking for a product containing SPF to give your sunscreen that extra boost, then Laura Mercier’s tinted moisturiser contains SPF 30.
