A MODERN GUIDE TO LIVING YOUR LIFE WELL

What It’s Like to Fly Emirates Business Class

Emirates Business Class Review

I love flying business class. There’s nothing like a luxury in-flight experience to prepare you for your next amazing vacation. I tend to favor Qatar or Cathay Pacific airlines because they are both OneWorld partners, but on my most recent trip to Greece I ended up flying Emirates. If you’re curious how to see how it compares, then keep on reading…

First Impressions

I received a warm welcome onto the flight with a glass of champagne and an amenity kit containing luxurious Bulgari toiletries – not a bad start! I wasn’t a fan of the eye shades in the kit because they just weren’t compatible with my eyelash extensions, but this is usually what happens so I always make sure to bring my own just in case.

The cabin was very spacious with wide seats and plenty of storage. It certainly made my fourteen-hour trip feel a lot less daunting. I hate getting on a cramped flight and feeling trapped.

The in-flight had a removable control which was a really cool and convenient feature.

My favorite detail was the stars on the ceiling. It made the flight feel magical and honestly, I wish every airplane had this feature!

My Flight Itinerary

After take off, I opened my laptop to check some emails and get a little work done, then it was time to relax and enjoy the in-flight entertainment.

My seat had a lay flat bed for sleeping and I’m happy to say that I got what I’d consider to be a healthy amount of sleep on my flight, so I arrived in Greece feeling happy and well-rested. I woke up and had a nutritious breakfast a few hours before landing. This flight definitely helped me to keep jet lag to a minimum.

Food

Dinner was the first meal since this was an overnight flight. The menu was extensive with so many great options that it was difficult to choose, but I ultimately opted for the chicken madras. It was spicy and flavorsome, just how I like my food to be! I had a great platter of starters too: green salad, avocado and crab and a warm baguette with olive oil.

Emirates offer their business class passengers a true gourmet experience, but I did notice that the gallery ran out of a few items during the flight. If you spy a menu item that you’d particularly like to try, I recommend ordering it early to avoid disappointment.

Final Thoughts

Emirates Business Class is certainly not to be sniffed at, but for me it just didn’t quite deliver the same wow-factor that Qatar Airways offer. There was nothing wrong per se and I had a comfortable flight, but I definitely feel that Qatar offers a more plush experience. I would definitely fly Emirates business class again but Qatar reigns supreme for me.
