A MODERN GUIDE TO LIVING YOUR LIFE WELL

The Most Luxurious Wellness Hotels in Europe

Isabella in Greece

As a luxury travel expert and a self-confessed wellness fanatic, I’m a little bit obsessed with wellness vacations. I’ve already put together a guide to the best wellness retreats in the USA but what about across the pond in Europe? The most luxurious wellness hotels in Europe allow you to relax and rejuvenate in some of the world’s most picturesque locations.

Andronis Concept Wellness Resort, Santorini, Greece

The Andronis Concept Wellness Resort scores major points for being located in Santorini. It’s one of my favorite destinations in the world. The Greek island is celebrated for its stunning caldera cliffs and it really is a must-visit for any luxury traveler. Honestly, I could ramble on about the wonders of Santorini all day. Check out this article for more information on the destination itself.

Okay, so now to the resort itself. The Adronis Concept Wellness Resort is easily one of the most luxurious wellness hotels in Europe. I promise you that the views truly will take your breath away. Staying at this resort makes you feel like you’re on top of the world. And that’s before we even get into the wellness treatments!

You can start every morning off on the right note with sunrise yoga sessions. In the evening, why not end each day with an outdoor massage as the sun sets over the sea? You’ll also be able to consult with qualified medical doctors and natural healing experts during your stay, and enjoy therapeutic relaxation programs at the Kallos Spa. You can even undergo a profiling test to optimise your results. This involves taking a sample of your hair to build a custom wellness program based on your stress levels and individual biochemical needs.

Six Senses Douro Valley Hotel and Spa, Portugal

The Six Senses brand always exhibits a unique attention to detail and careful incorporation of local style, and the Douro Valley property is no exception. Located in Portugal’s famous wine region, this is certainly not a teetotal wellness hotel. Would-be sommeliers will delight in the sheer variety of exceptional local wine on offer.

As for wellness, Six Senses Douro Valley offers an amazing selection of wellness programs centered around sleep, fitness, yoga and detoxification. Their ‘Love Your Heart’ program particularly stood out to me. It’s a day of reflection to help those suffering with emotional disconnect, overwhelm, anxiety, anger or grief. I think that this could be really helpful for luxury travelers looking to move forward and heal from the pandemic.

Chateau Saint Martin & Spa, Vence, France

If privacy and seclusion is what wellness means to you, then you’ll love Chateau Saint Martin & Spa in southeastern France. Set atop the rolling hills of Vence, this exquisite property feels totally removed from society. The gorgeous chateau dates all the way back to 1150. Of course, it’s been restored and renovated a few times since then but some original walls and features remain to this day.

As well as a Michelin star restaurant, this property also boasts a La Prairie Spa. Here, guests can enjoy a whole host of luxurious, cutting-edge treatments featuring the brand’s legendary Caviar formula. I recommend trying the Rose Tango polysensory treatment, which uses delicate rose oil to accelerate cell regeneration for younger-looking skin.

Capri Palace Jumeirah, Italy

Nothing says luxury quite like a stay in a sumptuous Italian palace. Located in stunning Capri, this property boasts not one but two Michelin star restaurants, incredible service and gorgeous Mediterranean decor. It’s not surprising really since the Capri Palace is owned by Jumeirah, the luxury hotel brand behind the seven star Burj Al Arab hotel in Dubai, UAE.

The Beauty Farm at the Capri Palace offers multiple wellness programs, including the Leg School. This program is designed to help you get strong, healthy legs in seven days. It aims to combat cellulite, reduce water retention, improve circulation and optimise nutrition for perfect pins. There are also multiple innovative scrubs and massages involved.

If you’re heading to Italy to escape stress, the Mind Reset program might be just what you need. It includes personalized spa treatments, a personal training session and a medical consultation to help you rediscover your body-mind balance.
